I'm totally shocked that Eliot Spitzer has been linked to a prostitution ring. It just seems like such small things bring great men down.

I think he'll have to resign now, and bring to end possibly the shortest and most contentious career of any governor in our nation's history.

Even though it never surprises me when powerful men risk their position and their family lives to seek risky sexual encounters, Eliot Spitzer seemed to be the most unlikely candidate for such illegal behavior. Cursing, yes. Threatening his rivals and investigating their government spending? Par for the course.

But spending several thousand dollars on a high-dollar hooker in a hotel room on Valentine's Day in the Mayflower Hotel? I would have never thunk it.
